About me
I am a PhD student in the Environmental Systems (ES) program at the University of California, Merced where I work with Dr. Markolf. I am passionate about the challenges that climate change is bringing to our infrastructure, especially extreme events and it’s meaning for the design of water infrastructure.
Originally from Germany, I find issues need to be resolved globally, having witnessed extreme flooding, storms and droughts in my home country as well as the US.
In 2020 I received my diploma in Civil Engineering with a specialization on Hydraulic Engineering and the Environment from TU Dresden, and after working as project engineer for 1.5 years and witnessing climate related problems in design firsthand, I decided to contribute to environmental research and pursue a PhD.
