About me

I am a PhD student in the Environmental Systems (ES) program at the University of California, Merced where I work with Dr. MarkolfI am passionate about the challenges that climate change is bringing to our infrastructure, especially extreme events and it’s meaning for the design of water infrastructure.

Originally from Germany, I find issues need to be resolved globally, having witnessed extreme flooding, storms and droughts in my home country as well as the US.

In 2020 I received my diploma in Civil Engineering with a specialization on Hydraulic Engineering and the Environment from TU Dresden, and after working as project engineer for 1.5 years and witnessing climate related problems in design firsthand, I decided to contribute to environmental research and pursue a PhD.
